Talent Youth Association (TaYA) is an Ethiopian non-governmental organization dedicated to the health and well being of Ethiopia’s youth. TaYA envisions Ethiopia’s youth leading the nation as healthy, productive, and successful citizens.

Talent Youth Association promotes the health and well-being of Ethiopia’s youth by not only eliminating barriers but also enabling them to realize their full potential. It focuses on HIV/AIDS and reproductive health issues, while supporting youth employment and leadership within the community, as the success stories below show. Find out more about TaYA and how you can support our activities by volunteering your time or donating.

Freiwot - member of a TaYA anti-HIV/AIDS club in school

Freiwot joined a TaYA-supported anti-HIV/AIDS youth club in secondary school. She developed new friendships, gained confidence, and became more involved in the club. She now leads a Youth Action Kit discussion circle.

Kasahun - talented Ethiopian youth who is supported by TaYA

Kasahun has a business degree from a local college. After graduating, he was unsure whether he should pursue work in hotel services or teaching English to adults. In addition to Kasahun’s activities with his TaYA supported anti-HIV/AIDS youth association, in the future, he will be able to obtain assistance on business writing and interviewing skills at the TaYA Success Center.

Fuad, a youth club facilitator supported by TaYA

Fuad has been involved in anti-HIV/AIDS youth clubs from primary school. He was involved through secondary school – teaching, mentoring, and coaching others on avoiding risky behavior. Upon completing school, Fuad and his friends established the Chilanchil anti-HIV/AIDS Association, one of the youth clubs supported by TaYA. Now Fuad is an accomplished club facilitator. He teaches classes and leadership to other youth. Fuad is applying his skills to help others within his community.

Thus TaYA contributes to the development of Ethiopia’s next generation of healthy, productive, and successful citizens. Our activities cover HIV/AIDs & Reproductive Health, Youth Employment and Youth Leadership.
